Terms of use
What this site is, what its information is worth, why no price is published, and what it does not promise. Short terms for a page about water heaters.
One Colorado Springs number, water heaters only.
This page sets out what this site is, what its information is, and what it does not promise. It is written to be read once, in about a minute.
What this site is
An independent local service that connects Colorado Springs homeowners with a water heater contractor. The crew that arrives is the contractor's. This site answers for the information on its pages and for nothing about the work itself.
The site is not the contractor. An agreement for a repair, a replacement or an installation is between you and the contractor, on the contractor's terms. Ask for those terms in writing before work starts, and keep them.
What the information is
The pages describe how water heaters fail, what a part does, what changes the scope of a job and when a repair is the wrong spend. That is general information about a class of equipment. It is not a diagnosis of your unit, because no page can see the tank, the venting, the wiring or the access.
Where a page names a building department, a code item or a manufacturer instruction, the authority's own text governs. Departments revise their sheets. A page that cites a source states the date of the version it was written against, and that date is the whole of the currency claim.
No price is published
Nothing on this site is a quote, an estimate or an offer. A figure given before the unit, the venting and the access have been seen would be a guess, and a guess is worse than a description of the job. Ask the contractor for the scope and the figure in writing.
What is not promised
- No promise about how quickly a call is answered or when someone can attend. The site has no schedule and no dispatch board.
- No promise that a page is current. Sources change and parts change, so where a page names a source it names the date of the version used.
- No promise that a step on a page will fix the problem. The steps are checks a homeowner can make, not a repair procedure.
Safety
If you smell gas, leave the building and call the gas utility from outside. If water is running near electrical equipment, stop and treat it as an emergency. The pages repeat both instructions where they apply. Neither is a substitute for a tradesperson on site.
The text on this site

Changes
Pages are edited as the site changes. A change to what the site does with information is reflected on the privacy page in the same edit.
